Sewcializers Christmas Lunch

Today was our group's annual lunch and gift exchange. Of course I forgot my camera. Gayle received a beautiful colour wheel clock from Fiona. Many lovely birthday and Christmas gifts were exchanged along with lots of laughs.

Afterwards I went into work to bid in the Silent Auction Fundraiser. All the items were donated and the girls raised $1500.00 for a needy single mother for Christmas. They did a great job for a last minute project. $75.00 of that was mine, I won 4 items all told, one being a $99.00 purse. I donated the Jewel Box quilt from the last retreat which was won by Peggy in the front office.A nice juicy bid too!

I took the Scrapbag donations for the United Church into work . It was said that a dolly quilt would have been nice for someone so I just made one up for her out of squares already cut, no batting and just a flannel backing.

Some of us will be doing a Jennifer Chiavarini  giving quilt.  Cathy issued the challenge for the winter. Mine will go to Project Linus which is what the book is about according to Joanne. I haven't read it yet and missed her last one too.

Next week will be the last Scrapbag tying day and lunch for the year. What an amazing job these ladies did.183 quilts this year, I'm proud to know them.
