no sew day

No pictures I'm afraid. I do have a lot of quilty ones on the computer mixed in with all the others though. I would like them all organized but thet're not going to do it by themselves.
Yesterday was a short stay at Sewcializers group but I did get some ideas on how to quilt Kim's baby's quilt
I had to leave early because the real estate lady was coming over to get my house listed which I did and she had a call shortly after putting up the sign. So here's hoping.....xxxxxx (fingers crossed.)

pictures-Ta Da

fusible applique
fancy stitches with fancy threads

bobbin play with Razzle Dazzle
My mission should I choose to accept it is to be able to take and retrieve then post pictures onto this blog. I have resorted to my old camera which reminded me why I bought a new one. My computer is not recognizing it anymore but I just found another part of it that knows it.. I don't even pretend to know what goes on inside a computer. So let's see if I can get them.....OK after a lot of screwing around I got them. I loved doing the bobbin play and when I have time will do something with it, pillows for my new house maybe.

brights

I seem to have lost the picture of the nice threads from Anita's workshop so I'll post a picture of this bright fabric from Quilts and Calicoes. Thanks Patty, I know the threads are in here somewhere. And how this picture ended up on the side is unknown. The fabric is much brighter in person.
Yesterday and today were spent trying to clean and organize my sewing room  in preparation for selling the house. Almost finished, just the table top and shelves to straighten up.I won't be able to mess it up now. When organizing I found that I already had some of that black stripey fabric. I also found a Winnie the Poof panel that I had embroidered to a piece of fleece.I think I'll put a backing on it for Kim's baby. She is due in May so maybe I'll be ready.

Thread Workshop

It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday and  Elizabeth and I went to a thread workshop by Anita Zobens at The Cottage in Exeter. It was a very informative and fun day where we learned all about threads in general and Superior brand in particular. Then we got to play with them on our pre prepared quilt sandwiches. We also got a tutorial on all those decorative stitches on our machines and on tension. Here is Razzle Dazzle bobbin play which I have been wanting to do for a long time. Or not, I can't seem to  post the pictures. We got to try silk thread, trilobal polys and many more and of course we bought some. A day in Exeter has to include some time in  Quilts and Calicos . The Cottage is their classroom and what a nice place it is.I would love a nice, bright room like that in my new place.

Anita's Arrowhead

Here's a photo sent to me by Cathy. I'm amazed that I was able to get it into here. It's Anita's Arrowhead that we started at Scrapbaggers last week. Yesterday at Sewcializers, I did the sashing with cornerstones which frighten me and Cathy sewed it together and put the borders on. I also worked on some Rag Baby Rag blocks, a take off on an old blues number-Rag Momma Rag.  I did some last night too. I still haven't even washed my fabric from Friday.
It must be spring, there's a housefly buzzing around the window.

April Fools Day

Yesterday was the first official road trip for my  Sewcializers group for 2011.  We started off with a fabulous breakfast at Del's then set off in a  2 car convoy with only one making the wrong turn  or  should I  say  going straight and not making the right turn. That doesn't bode well for the coming road trips especially since I was navigating. But we all ended up at Helen's about an hour away for her annual April Fools Day 1/2 price sale. We  stopped at Wendy's on the way back  so we did our bit for the local quilt shops economies. And  then of course lunch out.
This is a small sample of my purchases from the Bliss line by Northcott.
